Next Meeting: Tuesday October 7th – 6pm – The Ramada – Drumshanbo.
19 Companies attended our September network meeting. It was great to see lots of new companies join the network in addition to those who have being attending from the start.
We discussed how the network was working and some ideas for the future.
It was agreed that having a speaker at each meeting worked well. Unfortunately our scheduled speaker, Fergus Burns, could not attend but he does hope to speak at our October meeting.
Network members are invited to suggest topics/speakers for meetings by leaving a comment here or emailing info[@]leitrimbusinessnetwork.com ( remove [ ] ).
Topics suggested included:
1. Soft Skills e.g. Sales, Presentations Skills, Staff Management. More on this below.
2. Cost Saving
There was a positive consensus at the meeting that one of the best things about the network is the network itself and the opportunity it brings to meeting new people. One network member highlighted how he started a new joint venture with another company he met at a network meeting.
More offline marketing of the network was also suggested possibly in the form of PR including photographs.
All the items above will be addressed individually on this blog including the items below which were also discussed.
- Cost saving for your business
- IT Support
- Time to network at the meeting
- Blogging

How to blog — the real basics — important for some of us who don’t know what the first step is. Perhaps could be done after the regular meeting if the consensus is that only a handful of people need the ‘how to’ so as not to hold up other people.
Otherwise, I look forward to these meetings as very informative.

On the topic of IT support, I’ve setup a new dedicated PC Problems & Tips blog at http://www.pcsolutionsireland.com if anyone is interested..If anyone wants to pose general IT questions there or on the LBN site I’ll be happy to answer them.

Leon – great new site on pc solutions. I think it will be so helpful to have a central starting point for getting some support on the various pc issues that crop up all the time. Good luck with it and I look forward to availing of its (your) wisdom !
