Sleeping Warrior Productions complete the upgrade to High Definition.
Sleeping Warrior Productions have made the move to High Definition with the upgrade to the JVC GY-HD111e Broadcast quality cameras, along with hardware upgrades to the editing suites to cope with the ensuing loads demanded from them of the format.
Whilst HD disc delivery is somewhat distant for most customers of Sleeping Warrior’s DVD Brochures it does mean that from now all footage shot will be essentially future-proofed for when HD delivery both on disc and online does become feasible at economical rates and web speeds. However, as Sleeping Warrior are also shooting film and documentary projects as well as producing TV Commercials and animations, the format and hardware can be utilised to it’s full potential.
Sleeping Warrior Productions DVD Brochure service goes from strength to strength with several projects in production at any one time. The company are also currently designing the live audio visual element of the Perry Blake 2008 European Tour involving large screen projections and on-stage live cams which will bring Perry’s fans a new concert experience.
If there is anything that Sleeping Warrior can help you in the visual or audio field with then do not hesitate to contact Patrick J.O’Rourke or Jim King

I was interviewed on the Joe Finnigan Show yesterday on Shannonside Radio (nerve wracking!). We talked for 25 minutes all about our move from city to rural life, our sustainable lifestyle and the courses we offer here on pig, goat and polytunnels for smallholders. He was interested in my blog site, its forum & bookshop, where I write several times a week about life on the smallholding.

Durkin Design are currently in the process of obtaining Sustainable Energy Ireland (SEI) Approval for the FETAC approved B.E.R. (Building Energy Rating ) Assessors training course.
As part of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD), a Building Energy Rating Certificate (BER Cert), which is effectively an Energy Label, will be required at point of sale or rental of a building, or on completion of a new building. These regulations apply to new dwellings for which planning permission was applied for on or after 1st January 2007.
A1 Rating Houses will have a better re-sale value for the vendor, and so all home owners will be keen to have their house labelled on the high end of the scale. Prudent self builders will be considering this legislation when deciding on the type of new build system they are about to embark on!
Durkin Design will now be among the limited number of Approved Assessors in the Republic of Ireland who will be qualified to operate the Dwelling Energy Assessment Procedure (DEAP) specialist software in order to establish the efficiency rating of a new build house, whether it be Timber Frame built, Traditional Masonry built, ICF Insulated Concrete Formwork built, Steel Frame, etc,.
We look forward to clients in the locality making contact with us for this service. We will be keen to see if you have heard about this service on the Leitrim Business Network website, from word-of-mouth or from national advertising.
Vincent.

The Chamber’s help has been sought for this fascinating social history project in which you may have an interest (as an individual or as a company). The idea is to record as much social history as possible before it is lost.
The filmmakers are looking for at least one individual (preferably a grandmother, but all considered) from each of the 32 Counties who has an anecdotal story to tell about life in Ireland 50-60-70+ years ago. They are also looking for financial backers OR people/companies which can provide/underwrite in-kind assistance such as accommodation, transportation, supplies, etc., to the production company in return for PR opportunities.
If you know of a great storyteller who has lived through the many changes that have occurred in Ireland, perhaps you will determine whether she/he is interested in participating in the project.
Follow the link below to read more about this project, which starts filming on Monday next, 30th June. You can reply directly to Shane Dempsey at the contact numbers below.
